Avoidance of Doubt released their first album 'Science of the Mind' via a small independent label; Tomcat Records in 2004. 2006 saw the release of 'Through My Eyes' Ep Produced by Steve Lyon (Paradise Lost, The Soho Dolls, Depeche Mode and The Cure) via Ramhaus Records. Now they're back. With a new set, new material, new line up and a new album 'Blood on Your Hands' released May 2007. The band are receiving an immense amount of interest from within the industry and from a large number of promoters.
Take a look at AOD's awesome stage show. AOD initially appear as a fairly OTT and outrageous visual band along with the fact that the sound is both musically heavy and yet bizarrely "dance-ish" with great hooks. AOD fans come from all ages and backgrounds and they have an exceptionally wide musical appeal. Avoidance of Doubt have been compared to Rammstein, Marilyn Manson, NIN, Rob Zombie, Static X and Korn. Often labeled as Gothic Metal, Industrial Cyber, Dance Metal or Disco Metal.
However AOD are all and none of these things, whilst they are alternative, they are a theatrical experience, drawing not just from the aforementioned bands but also from Pink Floyd, David Bowie and from the more visual aspects of music and performance. Mixing it all up with an exceptionally tight stage show and a vibrant passion fuelled visual performance. Yet AOD remain highly commercial with haunting and powerful melodies that stay with you long after the final chords fade.
